Common questions
More about consumer units
Does a consumer unit upgrade mean I need a rewire?
Not automatically. The condition of the existing wiring needs to be assessed. We will explain any issues identified and how they affect the proposed upgrade.
What is an RCBO?
An RCBO combines residual-current protection with overload and short-circuit protection in one device. We can explain the options for your circuits when assessing the installation.
Will I lose power during the work?
Yes, the installation needs to be isolated for the replacement. We will agree the arrangements and discuss any equipment that needs special planning.
Can you quote from a photograph?
A photograph can help with an initial discussion, but it cannot show the condition of all the wiring. An assessment may be needed before a firm scope and price can be agreed.
Let's discuss your property.
Share your postcode and a few details. We will get in touch to discuss the scope and arrange a visit if needed.
